SWEAT

Students Working in the Environment for Active Transformation

Come run in the SWEAT’s Third Annual Earth Day 5K on Saturday, April 19th, 2008 at 9am! There will be free food and great prizes! Run either a 1-mile Fun Run or a full 5K (3.2 miles), and help out a great cause at the same time! All proceeds go to SWEAT’s summer service in Bolivia.

This summer, ten student members of SWEAT will embark on a service-learning journey to make a progressive difference in Bolivia, one of the poorest countries in the world. In collaboration with the Foundation for Sustainable Development (FSD), students will work directly with local citizens to complete efficiency repairs and to build a series of sustainable greenhouses for providing fruit and vegetables at a boarding school in the Anzaldo region.

Registration is simple: visit https://sweat5k.wufoo.com/forms/sweat-earth-day-5k-registration/ and sign up today. Online registration is $10 for the Fun-Run and $15 for the 5K.

As Co-Chairs of the Earth Day 5K Committee, we are extremely excited about our Earth Day event, and we hope you choose to be a part of our cause!
